We’ve got an update, and yes I’m gonna fucking post them all! We’ve (I say we because we’re all in this together) got 10 FOLLICLES! I think they entered one of them wrong because on the video the biggest are 14 and 18, and I think someone typed 13 instead. Either way, 10 are growing and being monitored.
So yesterday we switched up meds a bit. I stopped taking the Clomid & Doxycycline last night. Woo! Buuuuuut I get to keep up the shots I’m already doing, AND add another. Monday morning I’ll go back in to see how they’ve grown and get the plan for moving forward.
Yesterday Through Monday:
- Last dose of Clomid & Doxycycline last night
- 150 units of Gonal F 2x a day
- 150 units of Menopur 2x a day (luckily these 2 can be combined into 1 shot)
- 1 dose of Cetrotide a day
Cetrotide is an antagonist. It regulates the functioning of the pituitary gland. This gland is responsible for the production of hormones that stimulate the growth of an egg, its development and release once it is mature. So basically, it stops me from ovulating because we don’t want any eggs to leave the ovaries. The retrieval surgery is them going into each follicle and removing the eggs it’s formed.
I’ll know more Monday and hopefully have a timeline of when the egg retrieval will happen and update you again then! I also am going to be posting some how-to videos for the shots since I’ve been asked about it and now some have struggled with mixing the two. ✨
