A Change in My Lifestyle

Side by side comparison of weightloss with 21 day meal plan

Back in July, I started getting this feeling like it was finally time to change my life for the better. I started to feel sluggish, I knew I wanted a family eventually, and it was just time.

I’ve always been curvy, even in high school when I was dancing at least 15 hours a week. I know my body and I’m not made to be “skinny.” Back in those days, I never even thought of my body as anything other than my body. Until I had a shitty encounter with someone I had a major crush on.

Back in the days of AOL Instant messenger or “AIM” for the cool kids, it was the best when you got your crush’s screen name and had a chance to chat with them. So one day in chatting with him, I finally got the balls to tell him that I had a crush on him and thought he was sooo hot, lol.

This was just after graduating from high school.

I was met with the words that would crush my soul for a few years. He said, “your face is really hot, but you’re kind of fat.” Mind you, I’d give anything to be as “fat” as I was in high school. Prior to him saying that I didn’t think about my body in any way let alone a negative way.

It crushed my soul at that moment. To be honest, I lived in that moment for years. I wasn’t always this badass, don’t give a fuck person. Back then, it fucking rocked me. It took me yeaaarrrsssss to get over that. I worked on myself for years. I worked hard to regain self-confidence. I worked hard to stop giving a fuck about other people’s opinions.

Most importantly I worked hard on loving me. The past 3 ish years, since being single, I worked really hard on loving everything about myself and my body. I fell in love with every roll, curve, area of fat, cellulite, literally everything. I did the dieting over the years and every single diet always failed. Always. I realized it was because I was doing it from a place of hate. So I knew, and I could feel, that this time was different.

My best friend had recently had success with the 21 Day Meal Plan (Katie10 for 10% off) so I decided to give it a try. It’s a lifestyle change, not a diet, and I could tell from the first week that this time was different. It’s a big list of compliant foods. How you cook or consume them is totally up to you as long as you follow a few things, like no salt for example. Though she sells great recipe books, the people in the Facebook group share really good ones and some girls on Instagram create their own.

I lost 16.8 lbs the first round in August, and 6.8 lbs the 2nd round. Now I just eat 80-100 compliant every single day and I’m down another 24 lbs. My doctor said this only helped with fertility, which hello, WIN! I eat more food than ever before. Definitely more food than on any diet I ever tried. Because it’s a big list of food I feel as though you can tailor it to your life. I stick to a few meals I LOVE because I live for convenience and easy meals. I don’t have time for elaborate shit but some of the girls make delicious looking, more elaborate meals.

I highly encourage anyone who’s trying to regain the upper hand on their health to try the 21 Day Meal Plan. It’s only $20, the recipe books are affordable AND if you use code: Katie10 you get 10% off the meal plan + recipe books. I do earn a small % when you use my code, but I would NEVER post/push/promote anything I don’t love and use myself. I’m walking proof daily that making the commitment to change your life, following this plan, and really doing it, it can fully pay off.

In July I also purchased a Peloton bike. I know, they’re fucking expensive. They do have really great payment plans, and I can save you $100 off with code: YDYY2W. I cannot rave about it enough and think everybody needs to own one. You can take live classes from the comfort of your home, or any on-demand class. There’s beyond the bike stuff like stretching, yoga meditation, strength training, running outside, and more. I do only have 6 more uses of the code this year so if you’re thinking about it, buy one now. It will reset in every January.

There’s tons of content and you can find a favorite instructor. I personally love Robin because she’s a badass and uses profanity so I’m all for it. I also like Christine, Ally, Jenn, and Olivia. However, my main boo, Cody Rigsby is where it’s at. He’s fierce, he’s in your face, he curses, he shares my love of pop queens, and makes you want to dance while you’re simultaneously killing yourself on the bike. Win fucking win. They also offer a digital version using the app so then you can use equipment you already have at a gym or your house.

Above all, make sure that these changes you’re making in your life are FOR YOU. Stop worrying about what others think about your love handles or your thighs. Stop giving a shit what other people think about your weight or what it should be. Love that body that carries you through life daily. If you decide that you want to give it a little extra love, I hope you’ll check out the meal plan + the Peloton.

For those asking about my glasses, they’re from Zenni Optical. You can get $5 off using my link: http://bit.ly/2TQzMok

* disclaimer: when you use my code I earn a small % of each sale.
